Esbilac 2nd Step Puppy Weaning Food is a creamy transitional cereal developed to follow Esbilac, for easy transition from milk to solid food. It's completely balanced nutrition meets the nutritional requirements for growth established by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO). Esbilac 2nd Step Puppy Weaning Food has superior digestibility and palatability.

Feeding Directions: For best results, the product should be mixed with ready to feed liquid Esbilac or reconstituted powder Esbilac to give the consistency necessary to get good food consumption. Esbilac 2nd Step should be lapped out of a bowl. If Esbilac is not available water may be used. It is recommended that Esbilac 2nd Step be fed until puppies are 7 or 8 weeks old when they can be fed commercial puppy of dog food as desired. (To avoid digestive disturbances, any changes in diet should be made gradually over the period of one week.) Mixing Directions: Reconstitute the powder by using three parts water to one part powder for the first few days. This will make a thin gruel. The amount of reconstituted powder should be divided into three or more feedings daily. Offer only small amounts and remove the uneaten potion within two hours. As puppies grow, decrease the amount of water mixed with the powder until weaning food is an oatmeal consistency. Weigh puppies at least once a week to monitor weight gain and adequacy of feeding.
