DESCRIPTION: Equine POTOMAVAC® + IMRAB®
is a liquid suspension of inactivated rabies virus propagated in a
stable cell line, combined with an inactivated suspension of Ehrlichia risticii.
Safety and efficacy of this product have been demonstrated in
controlled vaccination challenge tests and thorough field evaluations.
INDICATIONS: Recommended for the
vaccination of healthy horses against disease caused by rabies virus
and as an aid in the prevention of Potomac Horse Fever (equine
monocytic ehrlichiosis) caused by E. risticii.
DOSAGE: For primary vaccination, aseptically inject 1 mL (1 dose) intramuscularly into healthy horses 3 months of age or older. For E. risticii, revaccinate with 1 dose 3 to 4 weeks later using this product or EQUINE POTOMAVAC®. Revaccinate annually with a single 1 mL dose.
PRECAUTIONS: Store at 2-7°C
(35-45°F). Do not freeze. Use entire contents when first opened. Shake
well before using. Contains gentamicin as a preservative. Do not
vaccinate within 21 days prior to slaughter. In rare instances,
administration of vaccines may cause lethargy, fever, and inflammatory
or hypersensitivity types of reactions. Treatment may include
antihistamines, anti-inflammatories, and/or epinephrine. Vaccinating
animals whose immune response is compromised by stress, disease, etc.
