The InPouch TF test for Tritrichomonas foetus is considered the “gold
standard” in the United States. Growing social concern regarding the
incidence of bovine diseases is expected to generate an increase in the
frequency of testing. InPouch TF is recommended by name by several of
the states that require screening. The InPouch TF test is now used for
the detection of “non-specific” trich in cows, T. gallinae in birds, T.
suis in pigs and intestinal trichomonads in cats.
